What is HVAC Solution?
HVAC Solution is a tool for designing commercial heating, cooling, and ventilating systems.  Load generating components such as boilers are connected to load consuming components such as heating coils.  You've seen the piping schematics on mechanical drawings that detail how components are connected.  HVAC Solution uses the piping schematic representation to generate equipment sizing data.  When consumption components are connected in a schematic, they talk to generating components.  Once a system is set up, the user can export data that can be put on a set of construction documents.

Where do I start?
Using your mouse, click File->New to create a new episode of HVAC Solution.  Click on a icon or use the pull down menu to insert components. Position objects as desired.  Connect components with the connection button.  Duct and pipe types are automatically detected.  Insert a component in an existing pipe or duct and it snaps in automatically.  Once you create the look and flow, then double-click on components to define parameters such as water and air temperature.

Does HVAC Solution do load calculations?
No.  HVAC Solution is a piping and air system tool only.  A load program needs to be employed in determining overall information for a project.  Information such as total airflow, outside airflow, etc must be obtained from a loads program and imported into HVAC Solution.

Does HVAC Solution replace engineers?
No.  HVAC Solution is a tool for engineers.  The saying goes, "garbage in, garbage out".  The systems in HVAC Solution can be simple to complex.  It is  recommended that qualified HVAC engineers or designers use HVAC Solution.

Will HVAC Solution think for me?
Partially.  We have taken basic HVAC concepts and integrated them into HVAC Solution.  No more re-inventing the wheel for every project.  HVAC Solution will not, however, replace the skills and understanding of a qualified engineer or designer.

Can I export HVAC Solution data into a spreadsheet?
HVAC Solution automatically creates a spreadsheet schedule that can be linked (OLE) with other Windows programs.  Information is automatically updated!  No more redoing work every time you change a piece of equipment.
